Scorpions fall out of playoff hunt

The Yuma Scorpions will not be headed to the Golden League Baseball playoffs for a second straight season following a 6-2 loss to Reno in Game 1 of Friday's doubleheader at Desert Sun Stadium.

Yuma entered the game four games behind Long Beach and St. George in the second half South Division standings. Both the Armada and the Roadrunners only have three games remaining. Yuma also trails in the overall standings should Orange County win the second half.

No score was available for Game 2 at press time.
