Canan wins Player of the Year award
Comments 0 | Recommend 0Junior golfer Mieke Canan won the girls Player of the Year Award from the Junior Golf Association of Arizona.
Canan, who lives in Roll and plays high school golf for Antelope Union, competed in 15 JGAA and PGA sponsored events this year and won four of them. Her most significant win came at the Arizona Junior Match Play Championship on Aug 1. She also competed in six junior golf events hosted in Yuma, medaling three times.
Golfers accrue points for high finishes at each tournament. Canan edged out Stephanie Kim for the Player of the Year Award.
