Filter apparatus saved by city
Comments 0 | Recommend 0I for once have to give credit to the city of Yuma in the regard to the old sand filter apparatus that sat next to the Main Street water treatment plant for years.
I have feared for a long time that the scrap yard would be the final resting place for this one of a kind relic of Yuma's historic past. With the Hilton hotel and conference center at Pivot Point bearing down on where it had been stored, the city moved it up to the entrance of gateway park under the bridge.
It has been displayed on a nice pedestal foundation and smartly adds to the distinct features of the entrance. My personal thanks to those involved in saving this implement and a job well done.
