Highway 95 Cafe opening new location at Gene's

  Highway 95 Cafe soon will have two locations to feed hungry Yumans a dose of their popular Mandarin cuisine.

  Partners Alex Aw and Kenny Chuah have purchased the building where Gene's Restaurant has been located for a number of years at 771 S. 4th Ave., with plans to open a second restaurant there. Escrow is expected to close Sept. 28, at which time they will take possession of the building.

  They hope to open the doors there by early November to serve lunch and dinner.

  Ruben Fontanes, the Realtor representing Gene's Restaurant, said that restaurant is making plans to relocate to Yuma Palms Regional Center.

  Aw stressed that the 4th Avenue restaurant will be a second location and that the original Highway 95, 2585 E. 16th St., will remain open. The second location provides an opportunity to expand the business and menu they have been researching in New York and Asia, he said.

  Realtors Carolyn Malouf-McKelvey and Carol Engler, both of Realty Executives, put the sale together for Highway 95.

  Ahh-Some Blossoms is relocating, announced owner Sherial A. Magallanes. As of Saturday, the floral shop will be at 158 S. 4th Ave.

  Magallanes said the current location at 251 S. Main St. was too large for her business so she is downsizing to a smaller building. The shop will have the same phone number of 782-5726.

  As of Monday morning, Gonzales Medical Clinic will have a new address. It moved over the weekend to its new office in Tuscany Plaza, Suite 32, at Avenue B and 28th Street.

  The internal medicine clinic is expected to be ready for patients by Monday morning in the new location, said Dr. Renellie Gonzales, who is in practice with her husband, Dr. Rodolfo Gonzales, and Dr. Adrienne Gutierrez. The clinic will have the same phone number of 783-5828.

  Donut Corral has remodeled and is once again open for business, announced co-owner Carrie Johnson. The coffee shop had been closed about three weeks for the project that including creating a more open dining room, placing the display case by the door and decorating with Southwest colors.

  They're now ready to show off the new look and get back to serving their customers, whether they're looking for a cup of coffee and pastry on their way to work or to linger over breakfast with friends. The shop at 11411 S. Fortuna Road in the Yuma East Shopping Center (just down from Don Quijote) is open from 4 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Mondays through Saturdays and can be reached at 305-1000.

  Yuma's library has come home to its old location at 350 S. 3rd Ave., which is now the library district's north end branch library renamed the Heritage Branch Library. The library had a grand reopening last week and now is open to library patrons from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays and 9 am. to 5 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays.

   The library has books, newspapers and magazines, public computers, free wireless Internet and other services. Storytimes will start Sept. 10 to be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays. Meeting rooms are available for businesses and public use.

  Bobby's Territorial Harley-Davidson, 2550 E. Gila Ridge Road, will host a meet and greet from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday for participants in the 105th anniversary Celebration Ride who will pass through Yuma and spend the night.

  The 105th ride home will be the biggest Harley-Davidson Anniversary ride ever planned, with 105 starting points hosted by a Harley-Davidson Motor Company representative. The 105 points will feed into 25 major routes headed for Milwaukee with an arrival date of Aug. 28.

  All H.O.G. members and fellow Harley-Davidson riders are invited to come by and be part of the event. Corporate riders from Harley-Davidson will be present. For more information, call 782-1931.

  Mustard's Italian restaurant, 204 S. Madison Ave., is now open for dinner five evenings a week. Come by from 5 to 9 p.m. Tuesdays through Saturdays to enjoy one of owner and chef Scott Mustard's signature Italian dishes. He suggested diners stop by the Wine Cellar to pick up a bottle of their favorite wine to enjoy with their meal for a small corking fee.

  Brenda K. Bowlin has been appointed the designated broker for Country Roads RV Resort, 5707 E. 32nd St. Bowlin formerly was with Broken Arrow/Kammann Development. She also hold a master's degree in science in management from Baker University in Baldwin City, Kan.

  Assisting her with sales and property management at Country Roads is Alma Pena, who recently passed her real estate licensing examination.
