Hospitality safety
The Arizona Division of Occupational Safety and Health will be providing a training class addressing safety and health issues for employees at restaurants, food service operations, hotels and other lodging facilities.

Business women meet
Dr. Kella B. Price, a professional speaker, trainer, facilitator and CEO of Price Consulting Group, will present the program, "Take Me Seriously! Networking and Getting Noticed (in a good way)," during this month's meeting of the Yuma chapter of the American Business Women’s Association. Participants will learn how to build their connections and develop meaningful and effective business contacts.
The meeting will be held at 6 p.m. Tuesday at the Ramada Inn-Chilton Conference Center, 300 E. 32nd St., and includes dinner and networking opportunities. Cost is $12 payable at the door.

Business fair
The inaugural Minority and Woman Business Fair will be held from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sept. 3 at the Cocopah Resort and Conference Center. The free event will offer workshops, networking and other opportunities to provide the tools and resources to help business owners grow their business.
City and state agencies will have booths with information on their procurement processes and how to do business with them. There also will be information on becoming certified as a Disadvantaged Business Enterprise to work for the state, and the assistance that would be available to those certified.
The event targets minority- and woman-owned businesses but is open to everyone.

Annual safety day
The annual Safety Works Expo sponsored by SCF Arizona will be held Sept. 10 at the Yuma Civic Center to provide information on workplace safety to reduce accidents and injuries on the job.
The expo will feature networking with other safety professionals, classes on workplace safety issues and a trade show for vendors of safety equipment, supplies and service.
